Powerful Siblings

The Player of the Month for June is another action packed month with a brother and sister duo. It’s great to have these two wonderful siblings, Katie and Jordan Dickey, together on the US National Power Soccer Team for the first time when they were selected back in 2009. These athletes are from Pendleton, Indiana and have been a large part of power soccer in the United States. Together they both have won multiple MVP awards and together with the RHI Sudden Impact they won the national championship in 2008.

After the two of them have been apart for two years, while Katie attended college at ASU, Jordan and her will team up again this fall for the ASU Sun Devils power soccer team. Not only that but they get the chance to defend our World Cup Championship in Paris, France this November.

Katie Dickey believes that being a part of Team USA is a huge honor that allows her to represent her country and play at the highest level of a sport she loves.  Like the rest of the team she wants to win the 2011 World Cup, but she is doing it while being active at ASU volunteering with her sorority. As a hard working student Katie says, “I want to work with people that have disabilities abroad and help them gain rights in developing nations. Eventually, spreading power soccer to those places.” Jordan, who is going to attend ASU this fall, wants to win the World Cup while starting his freshman year of college successfully. As a freshman at ASU Jordan is planning on finishing college with an engineering degree and to find a good job. Power Soccer is a huge part of his life and he wants to continue to play at a high level and hopefully get a few more trophies. Jordan says, “Being able to represent my country at the highest level is something every athlete dreams of, now I get the opportunity to do just that and I couldn’t be more excited.”
